Step 1: Visit the wesbite and choose “East Delhi Municipal Corporation”.

Step 2:Click on “Online Services”, marked in red on the right-hand-side of the page.

Step 3: Now choose “Online Birth Certificate” or “Online Death Certificate” from under “Registration of Birth and Death”, according to your requirement.

For birth certificate, the website prompts you for the hospital ID number. In the absence of an ID number, the website gives you the option to fill in the particulars of date of birth, gender and parents’ names to access the birth certificate. An online charge of Rs 21 is applicable.

For a death certificate, too, one can search either by registration number or by filling in the deceased’s particulars. A charge of Rs 11 is levied in this case. Once you fill in the details, the EDMC’s IT department verifies the data and generates the certificate in the next five minutes.
